After working together in a small office in Dunwoody, our founders Liza, Ellen, and Mary Stewart, discovered their shared passion for helping clients in crisis and realized how well their skill sets complemented each other. In addition to her training in treating OCD, anxiety, and mood disorders Liza brought her experience in working with families, parents, and couples and then merging them with DBT. Mary Stewart enriched the team with her experience in doing DBT with adolescents and young adults that struggled with high risk behaviors, and Ellen brought her expertise in doing DBT with adults struggling with mood, anxiety or behavioral disorders.

After sharing a space for several years, they decided to formalize their collaboration. Their goal was to offer the Atlanta community a place for adherent outpatient DBT with intensively trained clinicians, providing a personalized experience and a source of hope during times of crisis.

Through their combined experience and training, Ellen, Liza, and Mary Stewart founded Perimeter DBT. The practice offers a variety of DBT groups, individual DBT therapy and continues to expand. PDBT now has several associates that provide not only adherent DBT but also individual therapy, child and adolescent therapy, and couples and family therapy through various modalities.
